Civil Aviation Accident & Incident Investigation experience exchange
19 November 2020
On 19 November, the EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP) held an online experience exchange activity on civil aviation accident and incident investigation. It was the second time CAAC and EASA met to discuss on this subject under the framework of the APP after the workshop in November 2017, in order to continue the dialogue and support the future development of accident and incident investigation procedures and exchange of information between China and Europe.
Under the main topic of discussion, the life cycle of Safety Recommendations, the European Network of Civil Aviation Safety Investigation Authorities (ENCASIA) first gave a presentation explaining the harmonisation process in Europe and its own role. EASA subsequently presented the internal follow-up process and use of Safety Recommendations in the Safety Risk Management process. CAAC gave participants an overview of aviation safety status and investigation practices in China as well as development of CAAC Safety Recommendation Management.
In conclusion of the meeting, participants discussed the follow-up meeting to be held in Europe next year. CAAC and EASA look forward to exchanging further in-depth on safety recommendation management, with the participation of other relevant stakeholders in the investigation process.
