The EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP) organised an online exchange meeting between the European Commission (EC) Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE) and the CAAC Department of Air Transport, on the subject of economic regulation in aviation. This activity provided the opportunity for a two-way exchange allowing both sides to gain a better understanding on the current status, latest developments and plans for future development of the discussed subtopics.

On 8 December, the authorities discussed substantial ownership and effective control of airlines. Its main concepts and definitions were presented from both Chinese and EU perspectives. Subsequently, the exchange focused on air carriers operating license granting conditions and assessment, oversight and validity in both regions.

On the second day of the activity, the discussion was dedicated to the topic of technological developments and economic regulation for air ticket distribution. In addition to discussion among the participating authorities, contributions to this session were made by IATA, CATA, Amadeus and Travelsky.
