Technical cooperation between Europe and China in the domain of Air Traffic Management (ATM) resumed under the EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP) in September with an online workshop on simulation and validation. On 5 and 6 September, European and Chinese experts discussed the latest innovative developments for simulation and validation in ATM. 

The workshop started with high level overviews by the key organisations in Europe and China in the ATM simulation and validation domain, followed by research results and practical cases. The contributions on this first day were provided by ATMB, EUROCONTROL, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics (NUAA) and Aviation Data Communication Corporation (ADCC). On the second day, more perspectives and practical cases of simulation and validation were presented, by ATMB, NUAA, EUROCONTROL, DFS, Civil Aviation University of China (CAUC), and the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC). 

The number of participants in attendance was close to 150. Both European and Chinese authority representatives expressed they are looking forward to the upcoming workshops this month, in which many of them will return to exchange their insights on more ATM subjects, further contributing to the strong cooperation ties between Europe and China.
