From 14 to 16 June, the EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP) held a workshop presenting an overview of latest developments in flight procedures concepts to raise mutual understanding of their benefits for efficiency in terminal airspace. This event served as an important platform for exchange of expertise between the European and Chinese air traffic management authorities and industry partners.

Over the course of the three days, various Terminal Manoeuvring Area (TMA) arrival techniques, TMA navigation techniques as well as TMA operations were presented by the experts. Contributing to the overview were Eurocontrol, ATMB, SESAR Joint Undertaking, DSNA France, Thales, German Aerospace Center DLR, DFS, Austrocontrol, and DGAC France.

Many of the over 200 participants made use of the opportunity to raise questions. At the end of the workshop, the Chinese and European authorities concluded that the event had been fruitful and that follow-up exchanges will be useful to continue learning from each other in the pursuit for optimal efficiency in terminal airspace.
