In addition, the recent changes in privileges and obligations of Design Organisations were presented. Subsequently, CAAC provided an overview of the current LOI regulations and application in China, as well as the policies which are under development. COMAC, AVIC HAIG, Rolls-Royce, Hunan Sunward Aircraft, Airbus, ATR, and Airbus Helicopters all shared their experience related to the LOI in product certification activities, including their challenges and benefits.
Nearly 200 participants attended the activity and the successful exchange between the regulators and the industry participants from both Europe and China was shown by the many questions that were raised and addressed by the experts. It was concluded that following the development of new policies on this subject as well as more gathered experience from the authorities and Type Certification applicants, it will be mutually beneficial to continue exchanging via the EU-China APP platform in the future.
