The EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP) successfully concluded another activity in the ATM field, which encompassed a wide range of topics related to flight path crossings in approach. The two-day workshop provided an opportunity to exchange operational experience and best practices between ATCOs for handling flight path crossings in approach.
More than 35 participants took part in this workshop on 28 and 29 March 2018, in Chengdu. With contributions from EASA, Airbus, the Dutch ANSP LVNL, as well as the Air Traffic Management Bureau of China, the Civil Aviation University of China and Chinese airlines discussed the design and operation of relevant procedures for air traffic management.
Exchanges focused on the principles for optimising airport capacity, namely on the operational requirements and technical solutions to diminish the workload of the approach controller and increase the level of safety, achieve integrated airspace design, as well as on the environments aspects.
