The EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP) successfully concluded a workshop on safety information management encompassing a wide range of topics. The activity provided an opportunity to exchange information on the objectives and approaches to safety information management in the EU and China. This included ways of data collection and analysis including the tools for collection and analysis (e.g. ECCAIRS, FDM, FOQA), acting on analytical results, future developments and possibilities for international cooperation among the participants, which included EASA, CAAC, AESA the Spanish Safety Aviation Agency, European and Chinese operators and manufacturers.

In the presence of more than 50 participants the speakers from EASA, AESA, British Airways, as well as CAAC, the Chinese Academy of Civil Aviation Science and Technology (CAST), the Chinese operator China Eastern and manufacturer COMAC discussed the challenges and operational requirements related to safety information management as well as practical examples on how safety data is being used.
