The EU-China Aviation Partnership Project (APP), managed by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency, is committed to supporting China in developing General Aviation (GA). To this end, the project started in 2019 with the organisation of GA flight experience trainings for Chinese aviation professionals, selected by CAAC. These trainings were developed following an earlier successful cooperation activity on this topic between EASA and CAAC, APP’s Promoting Safe General Aviation workshop in October 2017.

Participants gain a better understanding of GA in Europe from a regulatory but also a practical perspective of operating GA aircraft. The training lasts for three weeks. The first GA flight experience training took place from 24 June until 12 July, and the second training took place from 14 October to 1 November. A total of 33 Chinese aviation professionals, selected by CAAC, successfully participated in the programme hosted by the European Aviation School (EAS) in Barcelona.
